A social platform for classmates in remote courses to connect in a safe space. Students control how they present themselves to their peers through their own profiles and can browse classmates'. For this project, I collaborated with three students to complete our submission for this hackathon. I worked on UX/UI design and created mock-ups to convey a visual representation of the final interface. I also explored branding elements for the project.

Creative Brief
In a space that celebrates identity, intersectionality, and community, we'd like you to create a future you want to see. we could live in a world where Black trans lives not only matter, but thrive, non-binary individuals have access to inclusive and respectful healthcare, public policies work to make life easier for marginalized groups, our education system celebrates and uplifts underrepresented voices, and our diverse identities are reflected both on our screens and behind the scenes.

The Problem
Students and faculty are finding it increasingly hard to connect in remote classes, especially during COVID-19. Attempts to force student interaction via video, voice introductions, etc. can be especially uncomfortable for students with certain disabilities, gender identities, and living/working situations.

Solution
Our website provides a way for students to interact and get to know classmates, while controlling the way they present themselves to their peers. Instructors create a class site, where students then curate their own profiles and can interact with classmates' profiles.

Next Steps
We hope to better integrate the front-end and back-end code we've already created, improve the aesthetics to better match our designs, and add some of the features we didn't have time to make, like the ability for instructors to register individual classes that students can then join.
